The Grand Awards is a pioneering initiative designed to recognize and reward hardworking, innovative, and talented dancers in Nigeria. Established with a passion for dance and the performing arts, our mission is to uplift the Nigerian dance industry by providing a formal platform for acknowledgment and appreciation.
Our first edition, held in Abuja, drew a massive crowd of over 1,000 dance lovers, industry stakeholders, and performers. From 500 nominations nationwide, we proudly honoured 102 shortlisted nominees across 20 diverse award categories — covering styles such as Afro dance, contemporary, hip hop, traditional, and more.

A roadmap to excellence in Nigerian dance - from first announcement to the spectacular awards night
This is the official kickoff of the Grand Awards journey. At this stage, we host a press conference to formally introduce the awards to the public. Key details such as the event venue, date, award categories, and other important highlights are disclosed. The climax of the event is the unveiling of the official award plaque, symbolizing excellence and prestige.
In this stage, we open the floor to the general public to participate actively in the awards process by submitting nominations. Individuals, fans, and communities are encouraged to nominate outstanding personalities, creatives, professionals, or brands in various award categories. This process ensures that the awards remain inclusive, democratic, and community-driven.
After the nomination window closes, our panel of judges and organizing team carefully review the entries to ensure they meet the criteria for each category. Only the most deserving nominees are selected. Once the vetting process is complete, the official list of nominees is announced to the public, generating buzz and anticipation for the next phase.
At this phase, the power goes back to the public as voting officially opens. Fans, supporters, and communities are invited to vote for their favorite nominees across all categories. Nominees are encouraged to campaign for votes, sharing their nomination and rallying their supporters. This stage amplifies the visibility of the nominees.
The journey culminates in a glamorous and unforgettable awards night. This is the moment where all efforts and anticipation come to life.
